Book Cover Redesign: Girls Made of Snow and Glass
As part of a redesign assignment, I was tasked with creating a new cover for an existing book. I chose Girls Made of Snow and Glass by Melissa Bashardoust—a dark, feminist retelling of Snow White—because the story intrigued me, and I saw an opportunity to create a more visually compelling cover than the original.
Drawing inspiration from the book’s themes and atmosphere, I designed two glass-like female figures to represent the main characters—each reflecting strength, fragility, and the emotional complexities woven into the narrative. These figures are set against a snowy backdrop, echoing the story’s cold, fairytale-like setting while reinforcing the title’s poetic contrast of snow and glass.
